What we see in Hampshire homes
When the houses here were built decides what fails, how long prep takes, and what a job costs. This is Hampshire specifically, not a generic service area paragraph.
There are two housing stories here that barely overlap. The village and the surrounding countryside hold genuinely old properties, including farmhouses with wood siding, additions from several different decades, and outbuildings that have not been painted in a long time. Then there are newer subdivisions that look like our Gilberts work.
Farmhouse exteriors are the specialty. Multiple additions mean multiple substrates and multiple previous coatings on one building. Prep varies wall by wall, which is why a real walkthrough here takes noticeably longer than a drive-by estimate.
Outbuildings change the math in an honest way. A detached garage, a barn or a shed is often large, simple, exposed on all sides, and can be sprayed. That is a very different cost per square foot than the detailed work on the house, and it should be quoted as its own line so you can decide whether to include it.
Longer distances between properties affect scheduling more than pricing. We plan Hampshire work as full days on site rather than as a stop between two other towns.

It is a scope question, not a problem. Different eras mean different substrates and prep, which is exactly why we walk the whole building before we quote.
Do you charge extra for the drive out here?
